We’re delighted to announce that the critically acclaimed staged song-cycle Hearing Voices has received Arts Council England Grants for the Arts funding for further development and performance at The Coronet/Print Room, Notting Hill in July 2017. Inspired by (Jocelyn’s great aunt) Phyllis Williams’ struggle to live with the voices she heard, Hearing Voices explores the pain, laughter and protest of women who have experienced mental illness across generations, with a lead performance by mezzo-soprano Melanie PappenheimHearing Voices is a collaboration between Jocelyn, Melanie and director and dramaturg Emma Bernard. In addition to the live performance, visual artist Dragan Aleksic, creator of the film projections for the staged piece, will be presenting a number of newly created art installations around the hidden spaces of this stunning, historic Victorian playhouse.
